Stop trying to fix me
I'm not broken by impurities
It just so happens
They are my finest qualities
Acceptance does not matter
Weary of idiosyncrasies
Worn out lines
Amplified ideologies
I will not change
Nor will I conform
To what others believe
To be the perfect norm
I walk this road alone
In a blissful stride
Just me and my shadow
By my side
I find true comfort
In my own flawed skin
I won't sacrifice self
Just to fit in
I catch my reflection
Through an internal mirror
I know who I am
Layer by layer
I accept my image
Can you say the same
Or will you continue to crawl
With crippling disdain

Sometimes others see flaws in us that in reality are our greatest strengths. I am a square peg that has been forced at times into a round hole! It just doesn't fit! If we are comfortable in our own skin it shouldn't matter what other people think.

How very true it is! The pressure of having to conform is very great in this world but some people fit in naturally into any society they are in without questioning their own integrity - perhaps its a matter of personality.

Thank you so much for the fav! Maybe it is a personality thing but I wasn't always comfortable in my own skin. I think with age comes wisdom and I find being true to myself is more important than what others think!
